Leading Lines

LEADING LINES

This week assignment is exciting. The first time I read the assignment I did not get it at first. Then I remembered the pictures I took in a children daycare. There were al lot of lines there.

But I wanted to do it again, so today I get outside with my girls and walked the park. Searching for lines and thinking how I can capture it. We walked to the cows to give them some bread. I could see the line in the face of a cow. The grass was just mowed and giving it lines:

But now I am reading the assignment again. With a helpful article. I think I did not grasp the assignment totally. It's about: Using leading lines to draw your viewer’s eye to your subject
So I have to do it again. But I do not mind because I love to take pictures :)

Photographers Choice

Photographers Choice: is this week theme.

That's easy for me. I love to take pictures of my two beautiful girls. We went a weekend away a few weeks ago. That's were I took this pictures. They love to run on the beach. And the love the swing. It was a sunny day but still a little
cold. That's why they have red chubby cheeks :)

Landscape photography

Landscape Photography

This week assignment is landscape photography. In the Netherlands we have had a soft winter. So everything is blossoming. In the western side of the Netherlands the tulips are growing. I really love this. I hope you enjoy the pictures! The fields are colorful patterns. Just like a painting.

Food Photography

Food Photography:

This week was a fun photography assignment. Food. It's not as easy as its seems. If your photographing food its important to have a good white balance and the right colors. Because if its a little of you do not want to eat what your seeing. Hope you enjoy my photo's.

The photo's I took are from a dutch sort of marzipan cake with on the ends a little bit of chocolate.

week 11 Negative space

Week 11: Negative Space:

I just started photography in 2008, I never had professional education. I am an autodidact and followed numerous workshop with photographers. I also joined Clickin moms and there I am learning a lot. I never heard of negative space. On Clickin Moms a friend photographers (every week she explains the assignment)  gives the next explanation:

In photography we (the photographer) often spend so much time focusing on the subject itself (after all, we have to account for position, exposure, focus, etc.), that we can completely disregard the surrounding area. But, the area surrounding the subject (also known as "negative space") is equally as important. In fact, it can make or break your image.

A little while back I photographed the children at my daughters daycare. I hope this is what's is meant with negative space.

One object 10 different ways

Photograph one object 10 different ways, that is the assignment this week.
I love this challenge. The hardest thing was to decide which object I wanted to photograph. This week I saw that the bracelet that my youngest daughter was wearing is getting to small. At birth she also got a bracelet to wear when she was a little bit bigger. This was the moment to change. But Lynn was not ready. She did not want to let go of her baby bracelet. Lynn is 1,5 years old but she already knows what she wants or more so what she does not want! :)

I wanted to photograph this object. A bracelet is a small item but such a treasure. The silver is a little black because it has been in the box for 1,5 years.

"Sometimes" Pooh said, " the smallest things take up the most room in your heart"
